Why RAW?
The most important health aspect of eating living raw foods is enzyme preservation. Enzymes
help digest food and act as catalyst for every metabolic reaction in your body. Cooked foods cannot create true health because
they are also missing oxygen, hormones, phyto-chemicals, bio-electrical energy and life-force! When foods are heated above
105º F they begin
to lose all of these. By 118º F, most food is dead. Vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats and proteins are still there but in a greatly altered
state, not at all what nature provided. Every food contains the perfect mix of enzymes to digest it completely. “Life-force”
means “the energy that is able to create life”. All grains, legumes, nuts, beans and seeds sprout. Try putting
cooked versions of these into soil and see if a plant will grow! They only rot!
Eating cooked (enzymeless) foods puts a heavy burden on your body’s digestion, immune system, cause the body to produce
a surge of white blood cells, generates way too much acid and cause us to be basically lethargic! This is prevented when eating
raw, unheated foods. Humans, pets and domesticated animals are the only creatures on the planet that eat cooked food and the
only ones that suffer from degenerate diseases. The goal of adding more raw food into our daily regime is worth it for anyone
aware of the cause of illness: poor diet, genetically altered and highly sprayed foods, the abuse of animals to be exploited
for food, the devastating effects on our planet of overproduction, chemicals and poisons added to packaged foods for shelf
life and so on. An article on Medical News Today (Feb. ’04) cited the Raw Food Diet as being amongst the seven most
popular diets in the world today. The Raw Food Diet was one of the only two on the list that doctors claimed has no undesirable
side effects.
