Our body is a symphony of cells interacting in miraculous ways to produce each and every one of us.  The foods we consume provide the fuel that allows the cells to grow and function.  On the simplest level we truly are what we eat!  Numerous books and articles available today discuss various diets and the nutritional value of foods compared to others.  It’s no secret that certain foods contain far more nutritional value than others.  As the prime ingredient in chocolate, the raw cacao bean is one of the most nutritious foods know to man.  Earning honors as a true superfood.

 

But what most of us don’t realize is that common chocolate found on grocery shelves around the world contain little if any of the true nutrition that was once contained in the raw cacao beans.  The cooking process destroys much of the enzymes and nutrients.   Additional ingredients and “shelf life” prolonging chemical additives can even make something as enjoyable as eating chocolate potentially unhealthy.
